Lady Julia Fetes Wives of Asanteman Chiefs

Lady Julia Osei Tutu, the wife of the Asantehene, has organized a banquet, to celebrate and honour the wives of chiefs in Asanteman (Aheneyere).

The event, held at the Manhyia Palace, on January 5, 2025 was graced by the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II .

Using position
Addressing the gathering, Otumfuo advised the aheneyere not to use their position to intimidate others. “If you do that, it will have negative impact on the image of Asnateman,” he said.

The Asantehene indicated his profound respect and love for the aheneyere. “Your position as wives of Nananom is an honour so use it affectively. I will continue to give you the needed respect as our wives. There are a lot of issues before me to address so try and deal with your petty family issues internally,” he told them.

Commendation
For her part, Lady Julia commended the aheneyere for the role they are playing to support their husbands administer their territories.
