The Board of Directors and Management of Stanbic Bank Ghana on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, visited the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi to commiserate with Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, following the passing of the Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.

The delegation, led by Board Chair Esi Tawia Addo-Ashong, included the Chief Executive, Kwamina Asomaning, and Head of Brand and Marketing, Mawuko Afadzinu. They conveyed heartfelt sympathies to the Asantehene and the entire Ashanti Kingdom over the loss of the revered Queenmother.

As part of the visit, the Bank presented a donation to support preparations for the one-week observation of the late Queenmother, which is scheduled to take place in Kumasi.

Nana Konadu Yiadom III, who passed away on Monday, August 11, was the 14th Asantehemaa. She was widely celebrated for her role in upholding Ashanti tradition and culture, her philanthropic initiatives, and the wise counsel she consistently offered the Asantehene throughout her reign.

Her death has plunged the Ashanti Kingdom into deep mourning. Since the announcement, dignitaries, corporate institutions, and citizens have thronged the Manhyia Palace to express their condolences to the Golden Stool. The upcoming one-week rites are expected to attract a large gathering, including traditional rulers, government officials, and well-wishers from across Ghana and abroad.

The Asantehene expressed gratitude to the Stanbic delegation for their solidarity and support during this period of grief.
