Mahama using NIB to intimidate Former NPP Appointees, says Nana B

NPP National Organizer, Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B), has condemned the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) for summoning the party’s Bono Regional Chairman, Kwame Baffoe (Abronye), over his inquiry into the GH₵550 million allocated for dismissed government staff.
In a statement shared on Facebook on Sunday (23 February) Nana B accused the NIB of engaging in selective justice, arguing that no members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) were summoned when they made allegations against former President Akufo-Addo.
“If no one was summoned or arrested for making false allegations against former President Nana Addo while he was in office, why should Chairman Abronye be invited for legitimately questioning the allocation of budgeted funds for personnel who have been dismissed by President Mahama?” he questioned.
Nana B further alleged that the Mahama-led government is using the NIB as a tool to intimidate former NPP appointees. He claimed that this week, the government intends to arrest several ex-officials from the previous administration under the guise of corruption investigations.
Backing his claims, Nana B listed multiple instances where NDC members, including former President Mahama, accused Akufo-Addo’s government of corruption, yet no action was taken by the NIB.
Confirming the Bono Regional Chairman’s invitation, Nana B warned that the NIB, “should expect the Elephant Soldiers, led by our General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, to accompany Chairman Abronye.”
