Dr. Bawumia intensifies campaign in Western Region Thousands pour out to show support
Leading contender in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flag bearer race, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is intensifying his campaign in the Western Region, with party delegates and other members pouring out in their thousands to throw their support for him.
The campaign tour which started on Saturday has so far taken him to,Takoradi, Effia, Wassa East, Shama, Essikado Ketan, Sekondi and Kwesimintsim, Jomoro, Ellembele and Ahanta West constituencies.
Today, Wednesday, he will be at Mpohor, Evalue Gwira, Prestea Huni Valley and Tarkwa-Nsuaem.
Message
At various meetings with delegates, he pointed out that he is the only aspirant who has what it takes to defeat the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC’s) John Dramani Mahama in the 2024 election.
He said amongst the 10 aspirants, he is the only one the NDC is attacking, because the NDC knows it is impossible to win the 2024 election with him as the NPP presidential candidate.
Dr. Bawumia, therefore, urged the delegates to vote massively for him so that he leads the NPP “to break the 8”.
Takoradi MP throws support
At Takoradi, the MP for the Constituency, Kobby Okyere Darko-Mensah, emphasised that under no circumstances will the delegates of his constituency vote for any other aspirant than Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
“Those of us on the ground and working with the grassroots know that Dr Bawumia is the one who has cared about us all these years. We will not exchange him for anyone” he stated.
He said Dr Bawumia’s competence, humility, integrity and incorruptibility make him the obvious choice for the presidential candidate of the NPP, as well as the next President.
