Eugene Amo-Dadzie Etches Name in Record Books as Britain’s Joint-Second Swiftest Sprinter

Eugene Amo-Dadzie, the man once known simply as the “world’s fastest accountant,” has stunned the athletics world again, running 9.87 seconds at Lee Valley to become Britain’s joint-second fastest sprinter of all time.

The 32-year-old, who only started competing seriously in his mid-teenties while working full-time as a chartered accountant, now sits level with Linford Christie on the UK all-time list.

His time pushes past big names like Zharnel Hughes and James Dasaolu, who both clocked 9.91s.

Amo-Dadzie’s rise is remarkable not just for the speed, but for the story. While most sprinters are groomed from their teenage years.

He came late to the track, balancing training with office life. In just a few years, he’s gone from 10.93s to 9.87s—an extraordinary leap that has put him on the map.

For Britain, his achievement is a boost to a sprinting scene hungry for new heroes.
