“Regain Your Lead” – Asantehene Tells SIC as Company Donates GHc 100,000 to Otumfuo Foundation
SIC Insurance PLC has presented GHc100,000 to support the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation (OTOTIIF).
During a courtesy call by the management of the company on Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace on Friday, August 14, 2026.
Mr. James Agyenim-Boateng, the Managing Director of SIC, explained that the financial support is intended to bolster the Foundation’s ongoing social welfare and humanitarian efforts nationwide.
He noted that the company is inspired by the King’s far-reaching contributions, especially in the fields of education and healthcare, and wished to contribute meaningfully to those efforts.
The visit also gave the Managing Director the chance to present his newly formed executive management team to the Asantehene.
Wisdom
Mr. Agyenim-Boateng stated that they came to request the King’s wisdom and support as they navigate the increasingly competitive insurance sector. He also thanked His Majesty for his continued encouragement of the company over the years.
Market leadership
In response, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II acknowledged the shifting dynamics in Ghana’s insurance industry. He advised SIC, as a state-owned enterprise, to intensify public awareness campaigns to reclaim its former market leadership.
He pointed out that many Ghanaians still do not insure their properties or businesses, presenting a significant growth opportunity. He specifically urged the company to reach out to informal sector players, including market vendors and craftspeople.
