Next NPP will prioritise agriculture – Napo

The Vice-Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, affectionately known as Napo, has made a significant commitment to the people of Ghana regarding the future of agricultural education in the country.

During a recent visit to the Kwadaso Agricultural College in Kumasi on Thursday, November 29, 2024, as part of his comprehensive tour of higher education institutions, Napo articulated the NPP’s vision for enhancing the capabilities and resources of Agricultural Colleges across Ghana.

Napo emphasized that the improvement of Agricultural Colleges is not merely an educational initiative but a cornerstone of the NPP’s broader strategy to foster agricultural development within the framework of Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET).

He underscored the party’s unwavering dedication to revitalizing these institutions, which are vital for equipping the next generation of agricultural professionals with the skills and knowledge necessary to drive the sector forward.

“Under the leadership of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and with God’s guidance, the NPP is committed to creating a nurturing and supportive environment for agricultural colleges to flourish,” Napo stated.

He recognized the pivotal role that agriculture plays in Ghana’s industrial growth and economic development, asserting that a robust agricultural education system is essential for the country’s progress.

In his address, Napo also took the opportunity to encourage students and the wider community to actively participate in the upcoming elections.

He urged them to cast their votes in large numbers for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as President, highlighting the importance of strong leadership in achieving the NPP’s goals.

Additionally, he called for support for Prof. Kingsley Nyarko to continue serving as the Member of Parliament for Kwadaso, emphasizing that his continued representation is crucial for ensuring ongoing progress and success in the region.

Napo’s visit and promises to reflect the NPP’s commitment to not only enhancing agricultural education but also to fostering a future where agriculture can thrive as a key driver of economic growth in Ghana.
