Napo Unveiled; Targets 85% Ashanti Region Votes For Bawumia
On a day that was devoted to him, NPP presidential running mate, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh boldly targeted 85% of Ashanti Region votes for his boss, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the December 7 elections.
At his outdooring attended by thousands of party supporters at the Jubilee Park in Kumasi on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, Dr Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as Napo said, “We are looking for 85 per cent in Ashanti. But before that, anyone who thinks someone has wronged you in the party, remember that it is good to forgive and forget so we fight on a united front.”
Bawumia best choice
The running mate took the fight to the NDC saying they have nothing good to show to deserve a return to power. “We will never allow what happened in 2008 [when NPP lost power to NDC] to repeat itself,” he said.
He said the Akufo-Addo government has performed creditably for which reason, Dr Bawumia deserves to succeed him as the next President.
“Since Ghana’s independence, we have not had any President who has performed so well like Nana Akufo-Addo. From 1957, not even Kwame Nkrumah has protected and moved Ghana forward like Nana Akufo-Addo,” Napo stated.
Youth
He asked the youth in the party to continue to have hope in the party, adding, “In the NPP, if you are a youth and you serve well, you’ll go forward.”
Winning elections
The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Bernard Antwi alias Chairman Wontumi, said the NPP knows how to win the elections. “We have one millions ways to win,” he stated.
Describing the Bawumia-Napo ticket as a perfect pair, he said, “nothing can stop us from winning.”
He said, “we have to protect the free SHS.”
Wontumi said the NPP is united and going to the various communities to campaign.
Scary alternative
Speaking on behalf of the losing presidential aspirants of the NPP, Kennedy Agyapong said the alternative , that is NDC, is scary.
