KGL, GNPC Foundations Partner to Fund 1,000 More Scholarships

The KGL Foundation and GNPC Foundation have signed a partnership to fund scholarships for 1,000 additional Ghanaian students, expanding a programme that has already supported over 9,700 beneficiaries. The agreement was signed at KGL House.

Creating value
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Alex Apau Dadey, Executive Chairman of KGL Group, welcomed the collaboration and linked it to the personal significance of education to him and his late father, Dr Alex Dadey, a distinguished educationist.

“True success lies in our ability to create value and ensure that the value we create contributes meaningfully to the lives and communities from which we derive value,” he said.

Development priorities
Ms Helga J. M. Boadi, Executive Director of the GNPC Foundation, said the partnership demonstrated the value of public–private collaboration in addressing national development priorities.

She noted that the Foundation currently has approximately 1,390 students under its national scholarship scheme, and the new intake will raise that number to roughly 2,390.

“We are looking beyond traditional scholarship funding,” she added. “Our goal is to equip GNPC Foundation beneficiaries with the entrepreneurship, leadership, and career skills they need to become active contributors to Ghana’s sustainable development”.

Significant addition
Mr Nii Annorbaah Sarpei, Programmes Manager at the KGL Foundation, described the partnership as a significant addition to the Foundation’s growing network of collaborations with public institutions.
