GNPC, ENI Ghana MD’s call on Energy Minister; Discussions centre on renewed commitments to upstream petroleum industry

Newly-appointed Managing Directors of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) and upstream operator ENI, Ghana, on Tuesday, May 7, called on the Energy Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh at his office in Accra.

The two Managing Directors are Joseph Abuabu Dadzie of GNPC and Giuseppe Valenti of ENI.

Frank Discussions
In a statement, Dr. Prempeh said, “ It is encouraging that our open and frank discussions are geared towards renewed commitments to the development of Ghana’s upstream petroleum industry.”

GNPC Boss
Mr Joseph Abuabu Dadzie, the new Chief Executive of GNPC, is an accomplished Financial and Management Executive with over 25 years experience at various executive and senior management levels in five organizations spanning energy, oil and gas, telecommunications, and banking.

Until his appointment, Mr Dadzie was GNPC’s Deputy Chief Executive responsible for Commerce, Strategy & Business Development. He took over from Opoku-Ahweeneh Danquah whose term of office ended on April 26, 2024.

ENI boss
Giuseppe has 30 plus years of experience in the oil and gas sector. He Joined Eni Upstream in 1988 as Geophysicist and moved from R&D to Geophyscial Services, and then to Exploration & Production working on different areas of the world. Giuseppe is presently Managing Director of Eni Ghana, after spending 3 years at the Eni Headquarter in Milano (Italy) as Executive Vice President Geology & Geophysics for Eni SpA.
