Bawumia likely to create only 19 ministries
Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is likely to create only 19 Ministries in 2025 if he wins the December 7 election.
This is reflected in the number of manifesto committees he has put together for the elections. The ministries likely to be created are Finance; Trade; Agric & Fisheries; Infrastructure, which comprises of Roads, Works & Housing, Water & Sanitation; National Security, which comprise of Interior & Defence; Education; Transport & Railways; Health; Energy & Power.
The rest are Gender & Social Protection; Communications, Digitalisation & Information; Local Government; Tourism & Culture; Lands & Natural Resources; Attorney General & Justice; Foreign Affairs; Employment & Labour Relations; Environment, Science & Technology; and Youth & Sports.

The 19 possible ministries that will be created under Dr Bawumia in 2025, in addition to 15 deputies and 16 Regional Ministers will bring the total of ministers to 50.
Background
Speaking to the nation in Accra on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, to unveil his vision for Ghana, Dr Bawumia pledged to limit the number of Ministers and Deputy Ministers to not more than 50 under his presidency.
Emphasizing the importance of an efficient governance system, Dr Bawumia explained that having fewer ministers will contribute to a streamlined decision-making process. “I would have not more than 50 ministers and deputy ministers,” he stated.
