Avoid Blame Game; We Are Down But Not Out – Bawumia
In a move to heal wounds, the presidential candidate of the NPP in the 2024 elections, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has encouraged the rank and file of the party not to be too downhearted about the defeat of the party in the elections.
He said they should also avoid blame game and look forward to how they can put themselves together for the next elections. “We are down but not out,” Vice President Bawumia said when he met some groups within the party at his residence in Accra on Tuesday. Also calling on him was a delegation of the Muslim community.
In attendance was the vice presidential candidate in the elections, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh.
No accusing fingers
Dr Bawumia urged party people to avoid pointing accusing fingers for the party’s loss in the elections.
“This is the time to heal wounds, forge the needed untidy for the next elections, “ he told them.
Unity
Stressing on unity, he said the time to unite is now. “Unity is key to achieving our goals,” he stressed adding that they all need to reflect on their words and actions, come strongly together and forge forward as one body with one common goal.
Appreciation
Dr Bawumia expressed appreciation for the party’s rank and file across the country for their immense support before, during and after the elections. “Your messages of support and encouragement are deeply appreciated. Let us keep the faith and stay strong. We will surely be back.”
NDC victory
On the elections proper, he said the NPP gave away victory to the NDC “We gave the victory away to the NDC. Their numbers didn’t increase.”
