Prophet Badu Kobi Collapses, Rushed to Hospital in Critical Condition; Aide Pleads for NDC Support
Prophet Emmanuel Badu Kobi, the founder and leader of the Glorious Wave Church International, has been hospitalized in critical condition, prompting a desperate plea for help from the political party he has long supported.
A disturbing video circulating on social media shows the outspoken prophet, often referred to as the ‘NDC Prophet,’ lying on a bed in an unnamed private health facility in Accra. Standing beside him in the footage, a man identified as a pastor from the church is seen appealing directly to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for urgent assistance.

According to the pastor, Prophet Badu Kobi collapsed in the early hours of Tuesday, August 11, 2026, and was rushed to the emergency ward.
He revealed that the man of God is currently suffering from severely high blood pressure and is unable to eat or walk independently. “Papa’s condition is very serious and we are appealing to President John Mahama, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, and Chairman Asiedu Nketia that this is a prophet who has stood behind the NDC in prophesies, prayers and other things and this is the time the man needs you,” the pastor pleaded in the video.
Challenges
The aide further explained that the prophet has endured significant challenges in his ministry in recent times, suggesting that the stress from these ordeals may have contributed to his health crisis. This development comes months after Prophet Badu Kobi publicly prophesied that Chief of Staff Julius Debrah would become the NDC’s flagbearer for the 2028 elections.
