KGL Group Reaffirms Support for Media’s Role in National Development

Alex Apau Dadey, Executive Chairman of the KGL Group, has reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting a free and responsible media, recognising its vital role in shaping national discourse and driving social change.

Speaking at the 29th KGL/Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards at the Manhyia Palace on Saturday, November 8, Mr. Dadey emphasised the importance of collaboration between the media and corporate Ghana.

“At the KGL Group, we recognise the vital role the media plays in shaping national discourse and driving social change. We stand with the media. Through trust and collaboration, our shared goal is a Ghana that is peaceful, prosperous, and just,” he stated.

KGL Group was the headline sponsor for the awards.

Call to action on galamsey

Mr. Dadey specifically called on the media to take a leading role in combating illegal mining (galamsey) and promoting national accountability. He stressed that safeguarding truth and questioning authority are fundamental to this mission.

“Equally pressing is the fight against illegal mining, which threatens the very inheritance of generations to come.

“The media has a duty not only to expose this menace but to help shift the national consciousness from apathy to action,” he said.
