Your allegation that NPP plans to rig elections is infantile, drop it in the toilet — Wontumi tells NDC

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, affectionately known as Chairman Wontumi, has fired back at the NDC over claims that the NPP plans to rig the 2024 elections in the region.

“I have taken notice of a wild claim by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to the effect that Brigadier General Michael Opoku, General Officer Commanding Central Command of the Ghana Armed Forces, has been tasked by President Akufo-Addo to execute an election-rigging scheme in the Ashanti Region ahead of the 2024 polls.

“As Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) I want to put forward that the statement by the NDC’s National Communications Officer Sammy Gyamfi, were infantile and deserves to be dumped in a latrine,” he stated in a post on social media.

Wontumi said with defeat staring at the NDC, they have decided to spew out lies. He told the NDC to rather focus their energies on addressing their wobbling campaign.

Bawumia campaigning, Mahama struggling
Wontumi noted that Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has toured almost all the constituencies in the country, while John Dramani Mahama, with 18 days to the elections, has toured only 65, and struggling to cover the grounds.

Aware of his impending defeat, the NDC, just like they have always done, wants to shift the blame for their impending defeat before they are announced as losers of the 2024 elections.

Wontumi stated: “The NDC per my observation in Ashanti region are not campaigning vigorously but instead, are sitting in the comfort of their homes and offices developing strategies to blame the NPP for election rigging.”

According to Wontumi, the NPP has delivered on its mandate to the people of Ghana and do not need the intervention of the military to win the 2024 elections.

Development
Wontumi said the NPP government has delivered on its promises to a large extent. “Take a look at the numerous interventions and social policies we have implemented including Free SHS, Agenda 111, the restoration of the teacher and nursing trainee allowances which the NDC cancelled. These are all evident that the NPP is winning this election and we don’t need any army officer to rig the election in our favour.”
