Voters Registration: Police Arrest Collins Dauda Over Disturbances At Kukuom
The Police have arrested the Member of Parliament (MP) for Asutifi South, Alhaji Collins Dauda, for his alleged involvement in disturbances which occurred at Kukuom in the Asunafo South Constituency of the Ahafo Region during the ongoing Limited Voter Registration Exercise, on Saturday, May 11, 2024.
A statement from the Ghana Police Service said one person sustained injury and is currently receiving treatment at the hospital. It said the police are in pursuit of other suspects in connection with the incident.

The police statement did not give further details. The Asunafo South constituency is currently occupied by the NDC’s Eric Opoku, who is seeking re-election in the December 7 elections.
Interdiction
In a related development the Ghana Police Service has interdicted three of its personnel, with immediate effect, over their failure to perform their duty professionally in the ongoing Limited Voter registration Exercise.
A police statement named the affected policemen an Inspector Michael Addo, G/Constable Eric Boakye and G/Constable Michael Gyan.

According to the statement, on 11th May, 2024 the three policemen “failed to perform, in a proper manner, a duty imposed on them as officers in charge of security at the Electoral Commission Office at Adugyama in the Ashanti Region when some persons attempted to disrupt the ongoing Limited Voter registration Exercise.”
The interdicted personnel will be taken through the due disciplinary process of the Police Service, the statement added.
