10 pick forms to contest NPP flagbearer election
Ten aspirants have picked up nomination forms to contest for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer position.
They are Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Boakye Agyarko, Francis Addai-Nimoh, Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku, Kojo Nsafoa Poku, Joe Ghartey and Kwabena Agyei Agyapong.

Picking up the forms after paying for a non-refundable fee of GH₵50,000, all the contestants were hopeful that they will the race to lead the party in the 2024 presidential election. Each of them sought the support of the delegates for the presidential primary to enable them to clinch victory.

The latest to pick their forms on Thursday were Kennedy Ohene Agyapong and Joe Ghertey. Their representatives were at the NPP headquarters to pick up the forms on their behalf.
Kennedy smells victory
Speaking in n interview, the campaign manager for the aspirant, Kwame Owusu, who picked up the forms on behalf of his boss, said Mr Agyapong is confident of winning the election.
He said the grassroots, which forms the bedrock of the party fully backs the aspirant and are ready to vote massively for him. “We believe in the grassroots. The people are excited about what honourable Ken stands for. Honourable Ken does not stand for indiscipline. Honourable is honest in terms of his dealing with the country. Honourable Ken is patriotic that he will die for Ghana, and he has demonstrated that,” he said.
Joe Ghartey ready
A delegation made up of the campaign team members of Mr Ghartey picked the forms on his behalf. Speaking to the media, a member of the campaign team, Majeed Adam, said Mr Ghartey is ready for a major victory because he has the backing of the grassroots.
