Trinidad and Tobago Prime Minister heads to Ghana for Otumfuo’s silver jubilee durbar

Trinidad and Tobago (T&T) Prime Minister, Keith Rowley left his country on Tuesday evening for London en route to Ghana to attend the grand durbar commemorating the Silver Jubilee of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

It is the Asantehene’s 25th year of ascension to the Golden Stool and the grand durbar is fixed for the Manhyia Palace on Sunday May 12.

The Office of the Prime Minister confirmed the development on Tuesday. Prime Minister Rowley said last month that he would be traveling to Ghana this month for the event.

In 2023, the Asantehene and his delegation visited T&T to commemorate this country’s Emancipation Day celebrations.

Delegation
The PM’s wife, Mrs Sharon Rowley, is accompanying him to Ghana. The T&T delegation attending the celebration also includes Minister of Foreign and Caricom Affairs Amery Browne. While in Ghana, Prime Minister Rowley will also meet with President Nana Akufo-Addo.
