His strength in both NPP and national politics has never been in doubt, and many in the ruling party see him as the heir apparent.

Among key party people who have endorsed him is the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Dan Botwe who said the NPP electing Vice President Bawumia as the party’s presidential candidate will be the best strategic decision for the party for the 2024 elections.

The MP for Abuakwa South, Samuel Atta Akyea, said, “Some people are saying we are doing Dr. Bawumia a favour. This is ridiculous if you consider Dr. Bawumia’s commitment to our party and the amount of service he has rendered to the party.”

The Minister of Information and MP for Ofoase Ayirebi, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah stated:” Whenever the party is under attack, Dr. Bawumia is the one who always avails himself to defend the party at the risk of suffering personal attacks. He does it and he has been very committed to it.”

Outside of the NPP, award winning investigative journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni, has predicted that it will be difficult for the NDC to win the 2024 presidential election if Vice President Bawumia becomes the presidential candidate of the NPP.

Message
In spite of the strong support the Vice President enjoys in the competition, he has never sat back, but has been prosecuting a campaign , telling delegates that he is the best man to lead the NPP to break the 8 years election cycle between the party and the NDC.

According to him, he is the most experienced among the 10 aspirants, and the only aspirant the NDC fears which is why they have targeted him for unjustifiable attacks.
