Salt Media CEO, Ohene Kwame Frimpong honoured at Ghana Father’s Day Award

Philanthropist and astute businessman, Mr. Ohene Kwame Frimpong has been awarded at the 2021 edition of the Ghana Father’s Day Awards. 

Ohene Kwame Frimpong, who is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bofrot Puff Puff and Salt Media Gh was presented with the ‘The Most Outstanding Father (Media)’ honors for his immerse contributions and humanitarian works in sustaining our country’s nobility and pride.

“We jointly express our profound gratitude for all your contributions and humanitarian works in sustaining our country’s nobility and pride. We say Happy Fathers’ day” – the citation reads. 

As a young businessman, Mr. Ohene Kwame Frimpong has used his resources to empower many young and vulnerable people through his media businesses – hallmarking his many philanthropic and charity initiatives such as the Annual donation to 5,000 widows in the Ashanti region and the medical support initiative for new mothers in hospitals by paying their medical bills and providing them with financial support.

Ohene Kwame Frimpong can best be described as an amazing father and husband – a fatherly inspirational figure, who has used his media and personality to teach, empower and support vulnerable and needy in society.

Ohene Kwame Frimpong is the latest young investor in Ghana’s growing media and broadcasting industry. He launched Salt Media Gh some three years ago.

Salt Media Gh is a fast-emerging media conglomerate in Ghana and operators of Salt 95.9 FM in Asante Akyem Agogo.

Ohene Kwame Frimpong has made a huge impact in his country, especially Asante Akyem Agogo where he was born.

In May 2021, Ohene Kwame Frimpong launched Bofrot Puff Puff, a beverage company (African donuts) in Ghana with branches in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, and the Americas. Other companies owned by Ohene Kwame Frimpong include MayDay Entertainment, Saltfmonline.com.

About The Event

The Ghana Father’s Day Awards was instituted to celebrate fathers in all spheres and sectors of life who have contributed immensely to the development of their immediate societies and the country as a whole.

The 2021 edition came off last Saturday, June 19, 2021, at the plush Labadi Beach Hotel, Accra.

It saw in attendance, politicians, media personalities, musicians, civil servants and many of the country’s elite.

The event organised by Kaya Tours Ghana Limited and sponsored by Wilmar Africa Ltd played host to Stonebwoy, Joe Mettle, Abeiku Santana, Rev. Dr Lawrence Tetteh, Patrick Yaw Nimo – Chief Director, Trade Ministry – who represented Trade Minister, Alan Kyerematen, and COP, Samuel Monney – DG-Technical who represented IGP – James Oppong-Boanuh.

There were performances by classical highlife singers, Akosua Agyapong and KK Fosu, and sensational Afrobeat artiste, Mr Drew and Daperfect Band. Jesse Agyepong ensured that the emcing of the event was on point.

In all, 26 fathers were honoured across various fields from creative arts and culture, oil and gas, traditional leadership, media, sports, politics, security service, and other interesting categories.

The winners on the night were, Rev Dr Michael Boadi Nyamekye (Pastor, Maker’s House Int’l Chapel), Bernard Avle (General Manager, Citi FM & Citi TV) and Prof Robert Ebo Hinson (Lecturer, University of Ghana Business School),

Others were Kwame Sefa-Kayi (Radio presenter and Media personality), Dr Kwekucher Ackah (Plant Pathologist/ Mycologist and Lecturer), Fadda Dickson (MD, Despite Media), Clemence Gyato, Ohene Kwame Frimpong.

The rest were Rev. Dr Lawrence Tetteh (President of the Worldwide Miracle Outreach), Minister Joe Mettle (Gospel musician) and Togbe Afede XIV (Agbogbomefia of the AsogliState and President of Asogli Traditional Area).

Other winners were Professor Azumah Nelson (Ghanaian boxing legend), Prophet Dr Kofi Oduro (spiritual leader), Dr Bossman Eric Asare, Uncle Ebo Whyte ( playwright and author), Patrick Sarpong, Dr Kofi Abban(Oil and Gas entrepreneur), Charles Antwi-Boahen, Livingstone Etse Satekla (Genius composer/musician), Bismark Kyei Frimpong, Agyenim Boateng (Ghanaian American lawyer and judge), Paul Kojo Yankey, Kwasi Acheampong, Michael Kofi Gyau, Anthony Adu Nketiah, Michael Adjei and Kwame Adu.

The CEO of KAYA Tours, Abeiku Aggrey Santana, was also

honored with a citation.
