Elizabeth Sackey confirmed as Accra Mayor

Members of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) have unanimously confirmed the president’s nominee for the position of metropolitan chief executive (MCE).

Elizabeth Kwatsoe Sackey garnered 33 votes – a 100% endorsement from all the assembly members who voted on Thursday (7 October).

She, therefore, becomes the first female Mayor of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA).

Elizabeth Kwatseo Tawiah Sackey is an economist and hails from Asere in the Greater Accra Region.

She was a former Deputy Greater Accra Regional Minister and Member of Parliament for Okaikoi North.
