I’ll Pay Constituency Workers Under My Leadership – Kwabena Duffuor

Aspiring presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, has promised to pay workers and executives at the various constituencies to enable them live decent lives aimed at investing in members of the party at the grassroots level.

In a statement issued and signed March 31, 2023 by the spokesperson for Dr. Duffuor, Antonio Edem Asinyo said not only did the former Finance Minister promise to initiate a salary structure for the constituencies but he will also institute a pension scheme to support the aged to be able to pay their medical bills and live decent lives under his leadership.

“Interacting with branch and constituency executives on the second day of his campaign tour of the Volta Region, Dr. Duffuor promised to build party offices for each region and all constituencies across the country and pay the workers and executives.

“The cadres who formed the party for us; we have to honour them. What most of them are going through now is not fair. We should be able to put in place a pension scheme for the aged and cadres so that they can pay off their medical bills and have a decent livelihood,” it disclosed.

It further stated that such initiatives by Dr. Duffuor will make the party stronger and more attractive not only to the children and grandchildren of these individuals but also to the majority of Ghanaians, making the NDC stronger and more attractive.

According to the statement, the former Governor and Finance Minister, who is on a three-day campaign tour of the Volta Region, has already visited Central Tongu, North Tongu, South Tongu, Akatsi South, and Anlo constituencies, where his message of grassroots empowerment has been received by crowds of enthusiastic delegates and supporters.

Ahead of the party’s presidential and parliamentary primaries slated for May 13, 2023, all flagbearer aspirants have been vetted by the party’s vetting committee.

Dr. Duffuor has consistently said that his ambition to become the flagbearer of the NDC and ultimately become the president was not for parochial interest but to revamp the economy.
