Columbus Crew captain Jonathan Mensah has left the door open for a possible move back to Europe before he hangs up his boots finally.
The 30-year-old has excelled in his time in America, leading Crew to the MLS Cup in 2020 and also being named in the MLS team of the year in his fourth season.
Despite the successes chalked, he failed to rule out returning to mainstream Europe where he once featured for the likes of Evian Thonon and Anzhi Makhachkala
“Never say never.
What will get your name out there is if you keep putting in good performances week in and week out for your team.
“This league has been tagged a retirement league but it has attracted big superstars in the likes of Zlatan, Frank Lampard, Rooney among others.
That tells you how competitive this league is and it’s getting even better and better,” he told Planet Football Africa in an interview.
