Girl, 2, killed in car crash

A TWO year old girl and two other people have been killed after a Tiper Truck and a Splinter Bus collided head-on at Soko in the Ashanti Region on Monday.

The innocent girl’s identity is not known but the two other deceased people have been identified as drivers of the two mangled vehicles that were involved in the crash.

They are one Kofi Juma, 37 years old, said to be in possession of the Splinter Bus, registered GT 4013-14 and Kodua, driver of the truck, registered, WR 1635-A.

The two vehicles, which crashed head on at Soko, aside claiming three human lives, also caused life-threatening injuries to about six people that were in the splinter bus.

The bodies of the trio have since been deposited at the morgue at the Saint Patrick’s in Offinso. The injured people are also receiving treatment in the same medical facility.

Eye witnesses informed the THUNDER that the Tiper Truck was from Tetrem to Boaman and the Splinter Bus was also coming from the opposite direction.

They said, perhaps, one of the speeding vehicles veered from its lane to the other lane, and that resulted in the dangerous head-on collision, which claimed three lives.

The sad incident attracted scores of curious people to the accident scene, most of whom were openly shedding tears for the dead. The police are still investigating the crash.

The Assembly member for Soko Abroma Electoral Area, Akwasi Clement, who was called to the scene and, in turn, called the National Ambulance Service.

He said there was the need for drivers to be careful on that particular stretch due to the danger there.

Two Die In Gomoa Dominase

On the same subject matter of road crashes, www.asaaseradio.com has reported that at least two people have died in a gory road accident at Gomoa Dominase in the Central Region, the police have confirmed.

The Asaase report said two others are in a critical condition at the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Centre hours after Sunday’s incident involving a motorcycle and a Nissan Terrano.

Eyewitnesses said the motor rider lost control of the steering and rammed into the approaching vehicle, killing two people on the spot.

Meanwhile, 29 persons are battling for their lives at the Winneba Specialist and Trauma Centre following another motor crash at Gomoa Okyereko on the Accra-Winneba Highway on Sunday.

The accident involved three vehicles.

Seven of the passengers were discharged on Monday 7 June 2021, according to hospital officials.
