NDC SHOULD KNOW THAT THE SUPREME COURT SINCE NKRUMAH HAS OPERATED ON TRUTH

The National Democratic Congress is affirming the perception that the party is simply an organization of political conmen and business crooks seeking power for the sake of power and profit.

As it turned out at the last Supreme Court Election Petition hearing, almost two hours of legal mumbo-jumbo from the corner of the NDC’s so-called legal brains culminated in empty verbiage – without argument and substance. Conversely, barely an hour from the corner of attorneys representing the ruling New Patriotic Party was all it took to shoot NDC’s arguments –with the NDC being thrown out unanimously by the Supreme Court panel.

Interestingly, what the NDC thought would have been a long-drawn battle, attracting the madding crowd in its constituencies to continue engaging in acts of mayhem, turned “a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.”

Unfortunately, what the NDC seemed to be ignorant of, or may have overlooked, is the fact that, since the days of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, no government has had a thumb on the operations of the Supreme Court.

The apex court, they may want to confirm from the records, had never been swayed by any Head of State – whether it be civilian or military. From Drs. Kwame Nkrumah and KA Busia through Kutu Acheampong and Hilla Limann and JJ Rawlings to our Fourth Republican Presidents, the Supreme Court had been truly independent and courageous.

Tsatsu Tsikata would the first among the NDC goons to admit that, even where the Heads of State had constitutionally appointed the law lords and ladies, the ruling had, in some critical cases, going against the state. This was because it is only evidence and the truth that have guided the operations of the Supreme Court.

Particularly under Rawlings, the phenomenon of our law lords and ladies showing courage was evidenced during the tenures of Justice Philip Archer as Chief Justice.

For the NDC and its bunch of graduate ignoramuses therefore to trumpet on the ground, the vile propaganda that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo deliberately filled the Supreme Court with known friends is an affirmation of the idiotic politics that may only have credibility in some galamsey and Zongo communities, where the NDC could easily recruit hoodlums to disturb the peace of the Electoral Commissioner.

Tsatsu, John Mahama, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, Samuel, and Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu should be told that the Barbarians died ages ago.

Ghana’s Judiciary will continue to be blessed with the presence of Justices Akpaloo, Annie Jiagge, Nii Amaah Ollenu, Taylor, Archer, and the more recent ones, including those patriots who the NDC is accusing of being in bed with the government.

These include those like Emile Short who wasn’t afraid to tell Jerry Rawlings that PNDC and NDC’s Colonel Osei-Wusu and co were crooks just like Tsatsu T, who had to be pardoned by John Agyekum Kufuor after the courts had found him guilty of causing financial loss to the state as GNPC’s almighty, infallible boss.
