Asantehemaa Blesses Bawumia
The Asantehemaa, Nana Yaa Akyaa II, has blessed the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, as he pursues his quest to win the 2028 presidential election.
During a courtesy visit the NPP flagbearer paid to the Asantehemaa at the Manhyia Palace on Thursday, September 17, 2026, to congratulate her on her enstoolment, he sought her blessings for his vision for the presidency, and she responded favourably.
Nana Yaa Akyaa prayed to God to grant the NPP flagbearer his wishes. “God willing, you will be back in 2028,” she told him. She also commended Dr Bawumia and his team for remembering her.
Dr Bawumia, who was accompanied by several party stalwarts, said he was at Manhyia to welcome the Asantehemaa on her ascension to the stool, and prayed that God grant her a successful reign, good health, and long life.
