VIDEO: Terrifying moment bandits attack Kwara church, kidnap members

A chilling video has surfaced showing heavily armed bandits storming a branch of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The attackers killed three worshippers and abducted several others, including the pastor, during a live-streamed evening service on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
The footage captures the terrifying moment gunshots rang out, sending worshippers screaming and scrambling for cover as the assailants forced their way into the church auditorium.
Eyewitnesses reported that the gunmen struck without warning, opening fire immediately upon entering.
“The gunmen came in suddenly and started shooting. Three people were killed instantly. They gathered others at gunpoint and marched them into the bush. We still don’t know the exact number taken,” a source told reporters.
The attackers reportedly fled through bush paths linking Eruku to neighbouring communities, hampering immediate pursuit by security forces and local vigilantes.
The church attack came shortly after a wider assault on Eruku town, where armed militants reportedly fired sporadically, forcing residents and travellers to flee into surrounding bushes.
The coordinated nature of both assaults has heightened fears over worsening insecurity along the Kwara–Kogi corridor.
Authorities are yet to release an official statement on the number of abducted victims, while local leaders say the community remains in shock and mourning. Security operatives have launched search operations in the surrounding forests as families anxiously await news of their loved ones.
