Refusing to concede defeat is cowardice – Miracles Aboagye jabs Ken Agyapong

Dennis Miracles Aboagye, spokesperson for former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has warned that presidential candidates who refuse to concede defeat in the face of clear electoral losses endanger Ghana’s democratic stability.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, October 16, Mr. Aboagye stressed that true leadership is defined by courage and a commitment to safeguarding national peace, particularly during moments of political tension.
“A presidential candidate who refuses to concede defeat in the face of obvious loss at a time when there are multiple incidents of violence across the country is a coward and a danger to our democracy. Courageous leaders act in time to save our peace,” he wrote.
His caution comes on the heels of remarks by New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, who asserted that he would only concede defeat in a presidential election after the Electoral Commission (EC) has officially declared the results.
Speaking to party delegates during his campaign tour of the Savannah Region on Wednesday, October 15, Mr. Agyapong maintained that any concession before the EC’s announcement would be premature.
“Until the last constituency results are declared, if I am a presidential candidate, I will never accept defeat. I will never accept defeat until the Electoral Commission comes out to declare,” he stated.
