I Hold Asante Queenmothers In High Esteem — Otumfuo
Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has praised queenmothers in the Asante Kingdom for their invaluable contributions to the development of their communities.
He said despite the imperfections of the queenmothers, he deeply values their contributions to protecting and projecting the rich Asante heritage.
Otumfuo said this when he graced the end-of-year party organised by his wife, Lady Julia Osei Tutu for queenmothers in Asanteman on Sunday, December 22.
The Lady Julia end-of-year party with the queenmothers was held at Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Jubilee Hall in recognition of their dedication and hard work.
Merry making
There was a lot to eat and drink, while the King and his wife joined the queenmothers to dance to melodious tunes from a live band.
No conflict
The Asantehene advised the queenmothers to avoid conflicts with their chiefs and rather work together to bring hope to their people. “I urge you to avoid sharing personal issues involving your chiefs with others, as it may lead to conflicts, “he told them.
Otumfuo assured that he will encourage his wife to organize gatherings like that from time to time.
Dedication
Lady Julia said she organized the party to honour the dedication and hard work of the queenmothers which have contributed positively in making Asanteman truly exceptional.
