ACEP Lauds Napo For Leading Sustainable Energy Initiatives

The Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP) has lauded the Energy Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh for ably leading laudable sustainable energy initiatives in his ministry.

The research and policy think tank noted that, the initiatives would improve access to electricity and clean cooking among other benefits. These came up when a delegation from ACEP led by its Executive Director, Benjamin Boakye, called on the Energy Minister at his office in Accra on Thursday, May 16.

Appreciation
Later in a post of his social media handles, Mr Boakye said, the interaction afforded his team the opportunity to know what the Ministry is doing about provision of sustainable energy.

He also mentioned ACEP collaboration with the Ministry to boost efficiency in the energy sector. “It was a great opportunity to share our regional work on the Future of Energy and to learn about the Ministry’s efforts in providing sustainable energy for power, mobility, and clean cooking. We remain committed to collaborating wherever possible, while prioritizing the public interest,” he stated.

Insights
Commenting on the meeting, the Energy Minister said it gave insights into opportunities and challenges in the sector. “Our dialogue provided invaluable insights into the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead as we navigate the transition towards a more sustainable and resilient energy landscape,” he said.

Commitment
Dr. Prempeh reiterated his commitment to transparency and related approaches to advance the vision of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the energy sector. “I remain committed to fostering a transparent and inclusive approach to energy policymaking – one that prioritizes the views of stakeholders especially as we advance the vision of His Excellency the President,” he said.
