Power Challenges Will Soon Be Over – Bawumia
The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party ( NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has given a firm assurance that the power challenges confronting the nation will soon be over.
He said from information he has received from the Energy Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the intermittent power cuts will end very soon.
Vice President Bawumia gave the assurance at a breakfast meeting with the clergy and Muslim leaders at Akropong-Akuapem in the Eastern Region on Monday, April 29 at the start of his national campaign tour.
He stated: “Currently, we have issues with power challenges but I say that from the information I have received from the Minister of Energy, those power challenges will end very soon, and I mean very soon it’ll be a thing of the past.”
Relations
Vice President Bawumia reiterated his quest for continuous closer relationship between the government and faith-based organizations emphasizing that a golden age of cooperation between the government and faith-based organizations would offer them incentives to help the government thrive.
“That golden age means we are going to give incentives to the faith-based organizations to help government. There are lots of incentives we give to our external development partners. They bring in things duty free and so on but they don’t do as much for us as the faith- based organizations. I am going to give a lot of incentives to the faith based organizations to help government,” he stated.
Other meetings
On the first day of his tour, Dr. Bawumia also had engagements with a cross section of the people at Nkurakan and Koforidua.
