Otto Addo announces 55-man provisional squad ahead of 2022 World Cup

Ghana coach Otto Addo has finally announced his 55-man provisional squad ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The release comes after backlash from the Ghanaian populace over the Ghana FA’s delay in releasing the squad list.

The team has some notable names like the captain of the side Andre Ayew, Tariq Lamptey, Iñaki Williams, Thomas Partey, Mohammed Salisu and Jordan Ayew.

Three Ghana-based footballers, namely; Daniel Afriyie Barnieh and Denis Korsah, both of Hearts of Oak and Kotoko’s Danlad Ibrahim, have also been included in the list.

Former Kotoko fullback Ibrahim Imoro has also been listed in the provisional squad.

The 55-man provisional list will be trimmed to the final 26-man squad for the biggest soccer Mundial scheduled for November and December this year, with 32 countries set to battle it out for the covetous trophy in Qatar.

Ghana is in Group H of the competition and will play against Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea.
