Napo electrifies NPP Ashanti Campaign Team inauguration; Cacophony of cheers greet his introduction

The Great Hall of the Kwame University of Science and Technology (KNUST) was electrified when the Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia South, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh introduced himself during the inauguration of the Ashanti Regional Campaign Team for Election 2024 on Sunday, March 24, 2024.

A cacophony of cheers greeted the MP popularly known as Napo as he mentioned his name and the constituency he represents.

Personal introductions
On the agenda for the day was personal introductions by all the NPP parliamentary candidates in the region.
The regional chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka Chairman Wontumi asked them to introduce themselves and the constituencies they represent.

One after the other the candidates were handed the microphone for the self-introductions amid applause from the party faithful.

However, when it got to the turn of Dr Opoku Prempeh who is also the Energy Minister, the whole atmosphere changed. The packed Great Hall rose to its feet as the Manhyia South MP who is one of the sitting MPs who won their primaries to contest again, introduced himself.

Unity
The Chairman and Strategist of the Campaign Team for the NPP, Dan Botwe, officially inaugurated the party’s campaign team in the Ashanti Region. The party has set a target to win 80 per cent of the votes in the presidential election and also claim all parliamentary seats.

Mr Botwe expressed confidence in the regional campaign team to achieve their target. He called for unity in the region to achieve their aim.

The regional campaign team is chaired by regional chairman of the party, Wontumi with the regional minister, Simon Osei-Mensah as deputy chairman.

At the constituency level, Mr Botwe indicated that the constituency chairpersons will chair the campaign teams with the parliamentary candidates as co-chairs.
