Kumasi Traditional Council ready for Wontumi today
Beleaguered Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Bernard Antwi Boasiako alias Chairman Wontumi is set to appear before the Kumasi Traditional Council today to answer for his alleged derogatory comments against the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
Last week , there were reports that the King , who is out of the country, had ordered the council to discontinue the matter, but a public notice by Opemsuo Radio, a radio station owned by the Manhyia Palace discounted the claim.

The notice posted on the station’s social media handles on Thursday, January 25, 2024 indicated that the matter will definitely come up before the Kumasi Traditional Council on Monday, January 29, 2024.
“Mr Bernard Antwi Boasiako, known as Wontumi and co will appear before the Kumasi Traditional Council on Monday, 29th January 2024,” the radio station said hi its public notice.
Also to appear alongside Wontumi are Maurice Ampaw, a host on Wontumi Media and self-confessed friend of the Ashanti Regional Chairman, and the management of Wontumi Media.
Spotted in Kumasi
The regional chairman who was alleged to be sick, was spotted in Kumasi on Saturday during the NPP primaries looking very hale and hearty.
He told journalists in an interview that he was healthy, but refused to answer questions related to the matter before the Kumasi Traditional Council.
