Napo grateful for massive victory in Manhyia South

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia South, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh has expressed gratitude to delegates of the constituency for his overwhelming victory in last Saturday’s primaries.

Dr Opoku Prempeh who is also the Energy Minister won the constituency primary with 486 votes representing 88.5% as against 63 votes ( 11.5%) polled by his only contender, Helina Pinamang.

After his victory , Dr Opoku Prempeh who has been an MP for four terms, took to social media to thank the party in Manhyia South for the massive confidence in him. “Thank you Manhyia South for the overwhelming endorsement,” he posted on Facebook.

Key battlegrounds
Among the key battlegrounds was Bantama, where the incumbent Francis Asenso Boakye fought off challenge from Ralph Agyapong, a brother of Assin North MP, Kennedy Agyapong.

There was so much tension in the build up to the polls but Asenso showed grit and determination to win with 650 votes as against 130 by his opponent.

Also Mike Oquaye Jnr, proved too strong for incumbent Adwoa Safo in Dome Kwabenya Constituency, Mr Oquaye polled 1,194 votes out of the 1,715 valid votes cast to beat Ms Safo with 328 votes and th Sheela Sakyi Adomaa, 186 votes.
