Gyakie Teases Love Life Revelations in New Album ‘After Midnight’
Award-winning Ghanaian R&B and Afro-fusion musician, Jackline Acheampong, professionally known as Gyakie, has disclosed that fans eager to know about her romantic life will find all the answers in her forthcoming album titled After Midnight.
Speaking on The Afternoon Show on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, Gyakie hinted that the project will give listeners insight into her personal experiences with love. “My love life is in the album. The answer to that question is in the album (After Midnight),” she said when asked about her current relationship status.
Despite the anticipation, the ‘Rent Free’ singer kept things vague when pressed further. She simply said, “I am single,” without offering more details.
Ahead of the album release, Gyakie dropped a new single, Sankofa, on Friday, May 23. The track, which will be part of the After Midnight album, serves as a teaser for what fans can expect.
In a lighter moment during the interview, Gyakie spoke about how fame hasn’t made her out of touch with everyday life. She shared that she would have no problem using public transport if she needed to.
“I can. Maybe it will be very loud and all but I don’t mind sitting in trotro to go somewhere. I will sit in trotro 100%. I think that will be something that will be really good,” she said.
After Midnight is yet to be released, but with these revelations and the release of Sankofa, excitement is already building among fans eager to hear Gyakie’s stories through her music.
