Breaking The 8; ‘World Bank’ Ashanti Region to kick off campaign to secure 85% votes
The Ashanti Regional NPP is expected to officially commence its 2024 election campaign with the inauguration of its Regional Campaign Working Committees, and Women’s Conference on Sunday, August 4, 2024 in Kumasi.
The two key regional events are being held under the distinguished leadership of the regional chairman of the party, Bernard Antwi Boasiako a.k.a. Chairman Wontumi.
To be held at the Rattray Park Dome, the inauguration will be on the theme, “Consolidating the unity in Ashanti to break the 8”.
Attendance
The highly anticipated twin events will witness high patronage. Per the event flyer, the event will be attended by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo; the flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia; the running mate, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh; the Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei Opare, and other key members of the party.
Campaign song
Sources say the inauguration will also witness the launch of the official campaign song, composed by Diana Asamoah.
NAPO, Wontumi promise 85%
The NPP is seeking to win massively in the Ashanti Region in the general elections. Already, both Dr Opoku Prempeh and Chairman Wontumi have indicated that the NPP is targeting 85 percent of votes in the region.
During his unveiling in Kumasi on July 9, NAPO, as the running mate is popularly known, said, “We want 85 percent in the Ashanti Region”, and therefore urged all to be on board to make it a reality.
Chairman Wontumi also said on Onua FM on July 15 that the NPP will secure 85 percent of the votes in the Ashanti Region. “As the campaign manager, I assure you of this. I am a miracle worker, I took over the party when it was in opposition and led it to victory,” he stated.
