An Accra Circuit Court presided over by judge, Christina Cann has sentenced social media personality Rosemond Brown, popularly known as Akuapem Poloo to three months imprisonment following her conviction on charges of publication of obscene material and domestic violence.
Thethundergh.com understands that in court today for the final ruling, the accused person pleaded guilty to all three charges that was convened on her.
When asked by the court if she still stands by her change of plea, she said yes, before she was remanded.
The judge, in her ruling bemoaned that, the spate of nudity on Ghanaian social media space is getting too much, therefore her judgement in ways to set as a deterrent to others.
Background
The actress was facing three charges of publication of obscene materials, engaging in domestic violence, a conduct that in any way undermines another person’s privacy or integrity and engaging in domestic violence namely conduct that in any way detracts or is likely to detract from another person’s dignity and worth as a human being.
Rosemond who had displayed her naked picture with her son on social media on June 30, 2020 earlier pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
The complainant in the case was Bright Appiah, who is the Director of Child Rights International Ghana.
He petitioned the police after the photo went viral on social media, and the matter was referred to the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU).
