There is no need to be confrontational with Kurt Okraku – Sports Minister Kofi Adams

Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has defended his working relationship with Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku, emphasizing that cooperation—not conflict—is key to reviving Ghanaian football.
In an interview with Citi FM, Adams said, “Kurt is the GFA President. We can’t always be in confrontation with the head of the group we have given our national teams to run for us.”
While reaffirming the Ministry’s commitment to transparency and accountability, he cautioned that an adversarial approach could hinder crucial development efforts.
Since assuming the GFA presidency in 2019, Okraku’s leadership has attracted both praise and criticism, with some stakeholders calling for deeper structural reforms.
Adams, however, stressed that unity between the Ministry and the GFA is essential to achieving stability and delivering tangible results on and off the pitch.
