11 days after limited voter registration exercise; Ashanti still leads with 81,163
The Ashanti Region is still leading in regional figures, after 11 days of the limited voter registration exercise.
Latest provisional figures provided by the Electoral Commission (EC) showed that 81,163 new voters had registered in Ashanti followed by Greater Accra Region with 62,932. Total registered voters for the country was 459, 291.

Figures for the other regions were Central, 49, 460; Eastern, 43,962; Northern, 40, 119; Western, 29,314; Volta, 23,501; Bono, 18,724; Upper East, 17,635; Bono East, 17,012; Western North, 14,990; Upper West, 13,975; Oti, 13,350; North East, 12,586; Savannah, 10,495; Ahafo, 10,073.
Evidence for identification
On percentage for registrants evidence for identification, the Commission indicated that, 62.12 % of the total registrants used the guarantor system, 37.60% used the Ghana Card, while 0.28% used the passport.
Challenges
On challenges filed for the first 11 days, the breakdown showed that Volta Region had the highest of 1,335 followed by Greater Accra with 981, and Ashanti, 774. The least number of challenges were 19 in the North East Region. In all 6,211 challenges were filed.
