2024 Elections: Elect Forward-Looking President, Not Second-Hand Mahama – Bawumia Urges Ghanaians As He Ends Successful Northern Campaign
NPP flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, rounded off his constituency-focused campaign in the north with engagements in Binduri, Zebilla and Bolga Central on Tuesday, July 30.
The flagbearer covered all the five regions of the north in what had been described as a very successful campaign tour.
Mahama is second-hand
Speaking at a youth connect programme in the Upper East Region, Dr Bawumia urged Ghanaians to look into the future to elect a forward-looking President. He said while he belonged to the future, John Dramani Mahama belonged to the past and must remain so.
“We are going to elect a new President in December 2024. When I say a new President, I mean a new President and not a second-hand President.
“We are going to elect a new President who will take us into the future not a President who take us back into the past. We are looking forward, we are not going backwards. We want a President who think about possibilities not impossibilities. Former President Mahama is a former President, let’s maintain him as a former President,” Dr Bawumia said.
Humbling
Dr Bawumia observed that the energy and enthusiasm across the five regions has been humbling, infectious and exciting.
Eastern Region next
In a radio interview on Wednesday, July 31, the national organiser of the NPP, Henry Nana Boakye said Dr Bawumia will be hitting the Eastern Region in the next leg of his constituency-focused campaign.
