Wontumi, Oheneba Nana Asiedu exposed; Fail to get John Kumah’s family support to prosecute personal agenda
Since the unfortunate death of former Deputy Finance Minister and MP for Ejisu, Dr John Kumah occurred, Oheneba Nana Asiedu, a presenter of Wontumi tv/radio, and aides of the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, have set out an agenda that the death was due to food poisoning.
In pursuit of their diabolical move, they have used the media outfit owned by Chairman Wontumi to link the death of the Ejisu legislator to the selection of running mate of the NPP flagbearer.
The Thunder is aware that Chairman Wontumi is trying hard to get his favourite selected as running mate and the agenda by Oheneba Nana Asiedu and the aides are just part of efforts by Wontumi to gain support within the party.
AGENDA FAILS
But, their shameful plan has backfired following the declaration by the wife of Dr John Kumah that his husband did not die of food poisoning, as being alleged. Dr John Kumah was not a child, and must have been told what his medical condition was. Also, his wife would surely be in the known.
We are aware, that already the wife has filed a complaint with the police against OnuaTv/Radio presenter Captain Smart challenging him to prove his allegations that her husband died of food poisoning.
The Thunder can say on authority that John Kumah did not go to India for treatment contrary to the claims by Oheneba Nana Asiedu. What we know for sure is that John Kumah went to Germany.
WONTUMI TRADING RUNNING MATE
Wontumi has been using his platform to set an agenda to bring down any NPP member in the Ashanti Region who in his estimation is becoming popular than him because he always wants to monopolize the region for his personal gains.
The Thunder is aware that, on the blind side of Dr Bawumia, Wontumi has been trading the running mate slot in exchange for personal gains including contracts and cash .
First his candidate was Education Minister, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum whom he tried promoting. When that move failed , Wontumi’s next bet fell on John Kumah. So when the unfortunate death of John Kumah occurred, the next step was for Wontumi to apply conspiracy theories to muddy the waters in the running mate issue.
Clearly, the agenda by Chairman Wontumi to get the family support to prosecute his personal agenda against some top NPP Ashanti bigwigs has backfired.
PARTY GURUS DISGUSTED
The Thunder can equally state that many party gurus are disgusted with what is going on in the corridors of Wontumi media. To them, it is untenable that Oheneba Nana Asiedu, a television and radio presenter who has no knowledge in medicine, and without any medical report or autopsy report, would give the cause of death of the deputy minister.
It is unthinkable for Oheneba Nana Asiedu to warn Dr Bawumia and the party against naming an unnamed individual as the running mate because according to him, doing that will be a stab in the back of Chairman Wontumi. This is a further testament to the plan hatched by Wontumi to, at all cost, have his preferred choice as running mate .
TIMING
On the timing of the alleged food poisoning as narrated by Oheneba Nana Asiedu, it occurred in October 2023. This is a clear indication that, at the time of the said incident in Tamale, Dr Bawumia had not become the flagbearer of the NPP for him to have promised Dr John Kumah the running mate slot. Dr Bawumia became flagbearer on November 4, 2023 when he won the presidential primary .This means Chairman Wontumi and his collaborators did not properly think through their negative agenda.
