Will Ato Forson, Jakpa Survive? Court Rules On 4 Applications Today
All attention will be on the High Court, Accra, today Thursday, June 6, 2024 when it delivers rulings on four applications by accused persons in the Ato Forson ambulance trial.
The court , presided over by Justice Afia Serwaa Asare-Botwe, a Justice of the Court of Appeal sitting with additional responsibility as a High Court judge, set the date at the last sitting on Tuesday , June 4, 2024.
The accused persons, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, and Richard Jakpa are praying the court to order that the charges against them be dropped, and also for an order of mistrial.
Background
Minority leader, Dr Forson, who is the first accused, applied for a mistrial citing recent developments involving a leaked telephone conversation between the 3rd accused, Richard Jakpa and Attorney-General Godfred Yeboah Dame.
Jakpa is also asking the court to strike out the charges against him on ground that it violates his right to fair trial.
