The Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah , and the Eastern Regional Minister, Seth Acheampong have endorsed the candidacy of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flag bearer race.

They said the Vice President is the best candidate to lead the NPP to break the eight year election. Yoke between the party and the NDC.

Proven capabilities
Addressing NPP stakeholders  on Friday when Dr. Bawumia campaigned in the Ofoase Ayirebi constituency, Mr Oppong Nkrumah who is also the Member of Parliament for the constituency said Dr. Bawumia has proven capabilities to lead the party.

Party defender
”When we needed men to defend our party, Dr. Bawumia made himself available and committed himself to it,” Mr Oppong Nkrumah said.
He added: “Whenever the party is under attack, Dr. Bawumia is the one who always avails himself to defend the party at the risk of suffering personal attacks. He does it and he has been very committed to it.”

Further expressing his admiration for the Vice President, he said, “ Let me reveal something today. Since 2008 when I came to know Dr. Bawumia at Bank of Ghana, at the time I was at Joy FM, and since we got together in politics, I have learned some things from him quietly. “I have learned about how he puts his ears on the ground to consult and listen. His commitment and dedication and also his humility.”

Full support
Joining his constituency chairman to declare support for Dr. Bawumia, the Minister said  “this month, I and our chairman will go and vote for him and in November, Ofoase Ayirebi delegates will also have the opportunity to vote for him massively to show gratitude for what Dr. Bawumia has done for the party and Ofoase Ayirebi”.

Best decision
At Mpraeso, the Eastern Regional Minister urged the delegates of the NPP in the constituency to vote massively for the Vice President, to become the party’s flagbearer.
Addressing party delegates when the Vice President campaigned in the constituency, Mr Acheampong said after careful consideration and observation, he believes electing Dr Bawumia as the flag bearer of the NPP, is the best decision to be taken by delegates. “I have carefully observed that among the candidates and as the truth stands, Dr. Bawumia is the best person at this moment to lead the party if the NPP wants to break the 8,” he stated.
