We will pray for you and Bawumia’s dream to come true – Wassa Amenfi Omanhene, Tetrete Okuamoah Sekyim II, assures Napo

Omanhene of the Wassa Amenfi Traditional Area and President of the Western Regional House of Chiefs, Tetrete Okuamoah Sekyim II, has assured NPP running mate, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh popularly known as Napo that he and his chiefs will continue to pray for him and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for their dreams to be realized.

Speaking when Dr Opoku Prempeh called on him at his palace in Wassa Amenfi on Wednesday, July 10, the Omanhene expressed gratitude that just after the running mate’s outdooring, he took time to pay homage to him. “It is a testament to your reverence to me and traditional authority. Keep your focus as we also pray for you and Dr Bawumia,” he told Napo.

The NPP running mate was accompanied by the Western Regional Minister, Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah, the National Organiser of the NPP, Henry Nana Boakye, and some NPP parliamentary candidates in the Wassa area.

Keep focus
The Omanhene counseled Dr Opoku Prempeh to keep his focus and not to distracted by those who say certain things about him. “They don’t know you so dont worry. It is said that, if you want to test the intelligence of people, intentionally lie against them. I urge you to keep your focus as we continue to pray for the dream of yours and that of Bawumia to come to pass soon,” Tetrete urged.

Gratitude
For his part, Dr Opoku Prempeh expressed gratitude to the paramount chief for the reception, and asked for more of his prayers for him and the flagbearer as they travel across the country asking the electorate for their mandate.

Relationship
Dr Opoku Prempeh was encouraged by the words of wisdom of Tetrete as he looked forward to engaging all stakeholders in the campaign. “For me I have always held that there should be a perfect relationship between the political class and traditional authority. I am committed to this more because that is the vision of Dr Bawumia,“ he said.

Background
Dr Opoku Prempeh was outdoored at a mammoth rally in Kumasi last Tuesday, July 9, and has since hit the ground running touching base with stakeholders as he seeks to prosecute a stronger campaign in support of the flagbearer, Dr Bawumia.
