Vote for me, NPP parliamentary candidates — Dr Bawumia

The flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has called on the chiefs and people in the Obom-Domeabra Constituency in the Greater Accra Region to vote massively for the NPP in the December 7, 2024 election.

He said the party, together with the NPP parliamentary aspirant Abdul Wahab Mohammed, would work hard to enhance the area’s development.

Dr Bawumia, who was speaking at a durbar of chiefs, Muslim clerics and the Christian clergy as part of his ‘Possibilities’ tour of the Greater Accra Region, took time to respond to some concerns put before him by the traditional leaders and said one of his major focuses was agriculture to improve the lot of farmers.

Vision
He also shared his vision with the people, including the introduction of flat-rate taxes, the elimination of passport applications and the training of a million youth in digital skills to create employment for the youth.

He said the roads in the area would be attended to under the District Road Improvement Projects (DRIP)

The President of the Domeabra-Obom Chiefs Association and Odoprala Mantse, Nii Abeka I, on behalf of his colleagues, expressed appreciation to the government for the introduction of the free Senior High School (SHS) policy which he indicated had been of immense help to many.

He appealed to the government not to forget communities in the constituency and said the area was mostly neglected when it came to the allocation of development needs.

Nii Abeka, therefore, appealed to the government to carve a district out from the present Ga South Municipality and also called for the establishment of a new SHS, a clinic and a factory in this area.

NPP legacy
The NPP Parliamentary aspirant, Abdul Wahab Mohammed, reminded the people that the NPP had since the era of former President John Agyekum Kufuor been supportive of the area in terms of the provision of development projects.

He further catalogued some projects initiated by the NPP in the constituency that included over 50 boreholes, many classrooms, a clinic and appealed to the chiefs and people to support him and Dr Bawumia to continue with the good works.

Ngleshi Amanfro
From Danchira in the Domeabra-Obom Constituency, the NPP flag bearer moved to Ngleshi Amanfro in the Bortianor-Ngleshi Amanfro Constituency where he held a similar meeting with the clergy, imams and traditional leaders.

Dr Bawumia urged them to rally behind him since that was the only means through which he could help meet their requests.

Later at the Galilea Park, the NPP flag bearer and his team were given a rousing welcome late in the evening by ecstatic NPP faithful who had been awaiting the arrival of their candidate since afternoon.

They cheered, chanted and danced joyfully and intermittently as they listened to one speaker after another on the achievements of the government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Dr Bawumia catalogued what had been done in the last seven years including the introduction of the free SHS, the Ghana card, the digital address system, mobile money interoperability and said those were the foundations laid for a smooth take-off.
