Volta Region Enjoys Development Only Under NPP – Bawumia
Volta Region sees development only when the NPP is in government, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has said.
Addressing various events on his campaign tour in North Tongu, South Dayi, Afadzato South and Ho West constituencies on Monday, October 21, the NPP presidential candidate therefore urged the people to vote massively for him and the party’s parliamentary candidates so that the region will continue to see development.
He said the NDC has nothing good for the region, and must be rejected.
National development
Emphasising his message of inclusivity and collective national development, Dr Bawumia indicated that the NPP has always been a development-oriented party.
He assured that under his leadership and government, there will be the implementation of bold new ideas, policies and programmes to modernize and transform the nation.
Mahama challenged
He challenged John Mahama to prove one policy he brought to benefit Ghanaians when he was President. “He has been president before. If you ask me as Vice President, I can mention 33 policies that I led in bringing,” he said.
Outboard motors
Dr Bawumia announced that the first consignment of solar-powered outboard motors for fishers will arrive in the country by the end of this month.
He said the government initiative would go a long way to addressing challenges associated with the sale of pre-mix fuel to fishers.
He stated: “We have engaged the companies that are making these outboard motors and the first set that we are going to use as a pilot will arrive at the end of this month. We are going to demonstrate it at the fishing communities in Ghana so that we see how the new outboard motors are working without the need for pre-mix fuel. So when you are on the river and you are moving, the sun is charging your battery for you. You don’t need to go and buy premix fuel.”
