Towards Otumfuo’s KATH legacy project: Thousands march in Kumasi to increase awareness

A large number of people took part in a Grand Walk in support of the Asantehene’s renovation and modernisation of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) old blocks.

The renovation is a legacy project marking the 25th anniversary celebration of his coronation.
Last Thursday’s walk was meant to whip up enthusiasm by the public in the King’s project.
Starting off from the Family Medicine Directorate car park of the hospital, the participants marched through some streets in the city, particularly the central business district.
They were led by the Chief Executive Officer of the hospital, Prof. Dr Otchere Addai Mensah, supported by Kumasi-based radio personality, Mama Efe.

As the crowds walked through the streets of Kumasi, they distributed flyers with the inscription , “ The King calls, the people respond”, which contains messages on the Heal KATH Project.
Many cheered the participants on as they sang and danced throughout the walk .
