Tamale Central By-Election: NDC Sets Filing Fee at GH¢40,000 for Parliamentary Primaries

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has released guidelines for the conduct of its parliamentary primaries in the Tamale Central Constituency ahead of the upcoming by-election.
According to the Party, nomination forms will be available at the NDC Northern Regional Office, where completed forms are also expected to be submitted.
A statement signed by the General Secretary of the Party, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, on Wednesday, August 20, said a certified delegates’ list will be provided to aspirants after the vetting process.
On fees, the Party said nomination forms will cost GH₵5,000, while filing fees are pegged at GH₵40,000. Female aspirants and persons with disabilities will, however, enjoy a 50 percent concession on the filing fee.
“Nomination Form Fee: GHC 5,000 (to be paid in cash upon collection). Filing Fee: GHC 40,000 (to be paid in cash only into the official Party bank account.
“Concessions: Female aspirants and persons living with disabilities are entitled to a 50% reduction on the approved filing fee,” the statement stated.
The Party further indicated that all filing fees must be paid in cash directly into its official account at the Universal Merchant Bank (UMB), Adabraka Branch, with account number 0101328345014. Cheques and bankers’ drafts will not be accepted.
The NDC urged aspirants and their supporters to strictly comply with the guidelines and conduct their campaigns with unity, decorum, and fairness.
The by-election follows the death of the Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Dr Murtala Muhammed.
