Real Madrid make inquiry over potential winter acquisition of Kobbie Mainoo

Real Madrid have expressed firm interest in England international of Ghanaian descent, Kobbie Mainoo ahead of the January transfer window.

Mainoo has fallen down the pecking order at Manchester United, making just an appearances in the English Premier League after four matches into the campaign.

The 20-year-old requested for a loan move during the summer window, but the Premier League giants blocked him from departing the club, while urging him to fight for a place in the team.

However, Real Madrid, who are keen on securing the signature of the midfielder has already made an inquiry about the possibility of capturing Mainoo in the winter window.

While Mainoo is open to joining the Spanish giants, Manchester United are determined not to lose their key prospects easily.

The Red Devils values the 19-year-old midfielder at £70 million, with his current contract running until 2027. However, negotiations could prove tough and drawn-out.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid potential signing of Mainoo largely depends on the situation within their squad. The decision could be influenced by a potential departure of Dani Ceballos, as well as injuries in the team’s midfield.

Mainoo is not only attracting interest from Spain, with Napoli, Bayern Munich, and Lyon also expressing interest in the talented midfielder.
